Characterizing The Speech Intelligibility Open Plan Office With Green Building Concept (Case Study Eecchi)
Energy efficiency is one of benefits in an open plan office concept. The absence of boundaries that reach the height of ceiling enable the building users to use a single lightning and air conditioning system. In general, boundaries is made from non permanent dry wall panels and architectural elements.
Problems that is commonly encountered on this type of office are related to the convenient of speech activity, due to sound interference, noise and frequent interruptions by co workers. These acoustical problems give impact to the speech intelligibility quality.
This research measure the speech intelligibility of EECCHI office in Jakarta, utilizing several acoustical parameters which are T30, C50 and RASTI. Survey was also conducted in order to provide subjective measurement. Several sound field were measured, which are defined by the source positions and workstation layout. Results provided from this research are reverberation time values of 0.67 – 0.88 seconds, C50 in the range of 0.32 dB – 9.32 dB and RASTI of 0.6 – 0.73 for all workstation.
